Oh my God.
Why didn’t they use that take instead of the one we got?? I thought they broke character immediately afterwards but clearly they didn’t! So much more there!
Also, I kinda feel like I have to say this: wanna smack Emma just a wee bit. Her arm is such a physical barrier between them. It shut her down. There Rupert was, doing all the work, and she was just like, nuh-uh, can’t do it. She needed to put that arm around his neck and pull him in. If she’d done that, perhaps the angle of their kiss could have changed too, because there would have been a sexy give-and-take of control, which would have mirrored the Ron/Hermione dynamic.
I mean, I don’t want to rag on her too hard. I know that it was difficult and awkward, but I think if they’d started breaking it down a little and step-by-stepping it, it might have helped Emma. Rupert’s so organic an actor, to tell him to “Let Ron take over” will work. But Emma needs the mechanics. She’s a mental-oriented person. Yates needed to guide her.
(I’m sure Yates didn’t want to make Emma feel like she wasn’t doing an inadequate job, but she’s all a perfectionist—she would have wanted tips to make it better :/)

Is basically every take of the kiss better than the one we got in the theater? Granted, the angle of the camera is still complete shit, but their enthusiasm is unparalleled in these recent ones we’ve seen.
We didn’t get to keep these because they broke character at the end, and it’s just like… EFF, guys. And Yates, come on—it’s your job to push them. Of course they won’t be comfortable, but a lot of actors aren’t, even the ones who DIDN’T grow up together.
