What if Dean and Cas were Damon and Elena? (Spoilers for TVD)
Those Supernatural fans who also follow The Vampire Diaries will know that things got pretty steamy between star-crossed lovers Elena and Damon this week - a make-out session by evening candle-light and an open fire, close-up shots of deep kissing and finally to bed and the beginnings of undressing and much skin-on-skin.
Meanwhile, there has been another round of “queer-baiting” discussion in the Destiel tag again this week, with some gnashing their teeth over Dean’s quick eye check-out of a hot female nurse and demanding that TPTB either make Dean definitively heterosexual or have Dean and Cas make-out, but to stop with the “grey-area”.
As someone bisexual and also as someone interested in “grey area” intimacies (i.e. in the kinds of connections which don’t neatly fit into the boxes we’ve constructed, for example “passionate friendships”)…
But, let us also be gentle with the angel and his hunter, with the actors, Misha and Jensen (whose characters so sweetly fell in love on their own and changed the story) and with the writers, feeling their way as to how to depict the burgeoning love between Dean and Cas; all of whom are, perhaps, taking steps to grapple with their own assumptions, prejudices and social conditionings along the way, as well as with the pressures of external social forces.
We can’t assume it’s easy; because we already know it’s not.
Crying because this is perfect.
Mope sigh mope mope.
Kellie, since you’re finding all these lovely gifsets, why not find one of the Coke scene as well?

The Girl Who Just Wants To Learn of the Day: Meet Malala Yousafzai, a 14-year-old Pakistani girl shot by the Taliban this week on her way home from school — ”A bullet struck her head, but her brain is safe,” one of her doctors reported.
Why is the Taliban targeting her? Because she openly campaigns online and in her country for education for girls.
A Taliban spokesman says that if she survives, they’ll come for her again:
She was pro-West, she was speaking against the Taliban and she was calling President Obama her idol. She was young but she was promoting Western culture.

This isn’t getting enough media attention. They went on to her school bus, made the other kids tell them which kid she was and then shot her in the head in front of everyone on the bus. When they found out she survived they said would be sure to kill her, eventually. This girl is a hero.
I really hope every one has heard about her by now. Unbelievable story, and unbelievably brave.](http://24.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_mbsx82K6X31qzpwi0o1_500.jpg)
